So Close Yet So Far

Happy New Year!

Darren Criss was amazing in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. I am so glad I got to see him and Daniel in this awesome show.
Yay for bad photoshopping!

Today is the 11th which means that I leave for Florida in 4 days! I still haven't even started packing yet!
Because I'm flying down to Florida without a car, I can't really take a lot with me. I figure I can buy a lot of stuff once I'm down there, but who knows if I'll be able to bring it back home with me. Southwest is awesome because they are the only airline to offer the first 2 checked bags under 50 pounds for free. I'm only bringing clothes for the most part so I don't think it will be a problem.

I have to remember to get a haircut before I leave! I like my hair kind of long-ish and I grow out a small beard sometimes when I get lazy, so this is going to be a huge change for the next 4 months. I think I look like a pre-pubescent teenager when I shave - that and the lingering acne. sigh

I'm starting to get excited!! My work location has been posted, but I want to leave it as a surprise for when I check-in. That way I won't be dreading it for the next few days before I even get there if it's a location I'm not thrilled about. I'll be getting my work location and roommates all at once so I can get it all over with at once. I'm hoping to live in Patterson. Since I'm going in random I don't know how it really works, but I hear that they just room you with whoever is next in line. I'm kind of nervous, but I've stuck it out with random roommates twice before so I think I'll be able to handle it. The anticipation is always the worst thing about any situation...

Anyway, most of my paperwork is filled out so all I really need to do is pack! I can't wait to get out of this cold New-England weather and into the Florida sun! My next post will probably be when I'm all settled in my new home!

Limbo Land

It has been awhile since I made a post here! Merry Christmas for those who celebrate it and Happy Holidays for those who don't!

Since being accepted in September, I've basically been doing nothing in terms of the Disney process. I know a lot of other CPs are talking in the Facebook groups and trying to find apartment/roommates, but there seems to be a bit of drama going on so I have decided to stay away from that. However, it is fun talking to people on Tumblr and whatnot about how excited we are. It's kind of a shame I haven't really made any friends yet, but I don't really feel like I'm missing out. I've found in life that you make friends with who you see on a daily basis or you constantly talk to so I'm not worried.

My campus reps held a few meetings this semester, but I didn't have many questions because I've been reading blogs, watching vlogs, and consuming everything there is to know about DCP. I'm just glad that the semester is over because I worked really hard and I got straight A's so I definitely deserve this long break that I am currently enjoying.

I leave for Disney on January 15th! That is in 20 days!!!
The excitement is building, but so are my apprehensions. I'm hoping that I will be working at a ride that is exciting and that I'm working with some awesome people. I've been reading that full-time cast members and the union doesn't like CPs, so I'm hoping that won't be the case with my work location. If that is, I'll try to use my charm to win them over. I'm hoping that the rest of my fears will alleviate once I'm actually in Florida. My mind just runs rampent before any big event, but once I dive in head first and figure things out, I'm usually alright.

I haven't even started packing yet! The event I'm looking forward to right now is How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying with Darren Criss in New York City!! I'm going the first week of January with my friend Jenny, so I won't really be prepping for Disney until after I get back from that trip. I do need to buy a suit, however...

Until next time!

The Waiting Game

So now that I'm done with the application process, it's time to wait.

The only thing that I can equate this feeling to is a cliffhanger at the end of a TV season. I think the worst part is that I have no idea when the decision will come out, whereas for a TV show the wait is usually around 9 months.

I keep going over the interview in my mind: Did I sound too negative with that answer? I can't believe I said that! Where is The Mouse going to place me for 4 months?!

The best thing I found to get my mind off of the wait is to KEEP BUSY! Seriously, if you don't have enough time to think about it, you won't go crazy over-thinking all of your answers. Luckily I have 4 classes that require a lot of reading, so I don't really have to try hard to stay busy, but this past weekend I forced myself to get out of my room so my thoughts wouldn't have a chance to stew. I also am thinking about joining a few new clubs on campus!

Go out with your friends! Have a nice dinner with yourself! Do whatever makes you happy! The decision will be coming soon and it will be worth the wait!

I'm excited to find out what we get in the mail that is so "magical." RIP purple folders! :(
